Sunday lived up to it’s name, and was a day full of sunshine for a change.
A regular Tunbridge wells event is “Sunday Stroll” with Blue Badge Guide Catherine Pitt. The excellent weather and the start of The TW Festival made a pleasant backdrop to a tour around the top of Tunbridge Wells, in effect The New Town. Catherine hosts lots of tours around the town, and full details can be found on http://www.tunbridgewellslife.co.uk/tours/
The roads in the centre of the town were closed off for the first TW Festival, a family event of music, stalls, fairground rides and bouncy castles, it was like Brighton seafront had landed in Mount Pleasant! By being in the centre of the town, local businesses were involved, and lots of people were milling around. The calmest place was in the gardens of Trinity Theatre, with a host of children’s activities, including the Zorb Balls.
“Local and Live” continued all day, and the bands I saw in the evening were all enjoyable and very professional, there’s so much talent around locally, and so many excellent ways we can promote it.
