Car-free Grosvenor Road

ImageA combination of a sunny Sunday and the top of this road (towards left) being closed, a car-free view to the former ‘Noakes’ shop. The left side currently the fitness superstore, and the right ‘Wickes’ and the Post Office, the two shops in the middle have recently become empty. ‘Noakes’ closed in December 2009 after trading for 150 years in the town, originally in Calverley Road. This building was purpose built on the old hospital site, at the time of the Queen’s Coronation – the service road at the rear is called Coronation Parade.
