This week ‘Art Pull’ features several artists in the third ‘Mix It Up’, one of whom is Anne Kelly Textiles, who I met in June (top photo) at her South East Open Studio.
Anne is still collecting her ‘Sparrow Stories’ for her solo show ‘Small Worlds’ coming up at Trinity Theatre gallery in September. So, if you can manage it by Sept 1st 2013, email her a scan or jpeg of an original poem, song, drawing, sketch, photo or textile of a …. SPARROW firstname.lastname@example.org
The current ‘Mix It Up’ is on until the weekend, so stop by 110 Camden Road to see Anne’s textiles and the work of others. Next Tuesday sees the launch of ‘Disgusted!’ – bringing Street Art inside, although from the sounds of the flyer, the Street Art may creep back out into the street on Friday 23rd August at ‘Free Art Friday’.
I also paid a visit to The Pantiles yesterday to visit pop-up shop ’10@9′ (9 The Pantiles Lower Walk) where 10 local artists are displaying until the end of the Bank Holiday weekend. Round the corner at no 25, a new gallery/shop ‘Urban Soup’ has just opened, have a look at their facebook page to get an idea of the range of art on offer. The Pantiles was buzzing in the sun yesterday, over the Bank Holiday weekend catch some live, acoustic music in The Duke of York and have a wander around the galleries!
