Heritage Lottery Fund news

The reason I started this blog, nearly two years ago, was to share some information about Grosvenor and Hilbert Park, the Friends group, visits to some other Robert Marnock parks, plus some local history.

The blog has expanded slightly into a diary… but at it’s heart has been the ongoing bid to obtain a grant from HLF/Big Lottery Fund, to restore my local Victorian park. News released today on the HLF website is that the park has received the grant, along with many other parks and cemeteries, including Brompton Cemetery.

Celebrations today, and now a few months of upheaval as the works take place. The oldest park of the park, Grosvenor, opened as a public park 125 years ago, so what better way to celebrate that anniversary?
