TAYLOR MADE DREAMS CHARITY SINGLE LAUNCH
Watch the video here: It’s Christmas Time
I am going to inflict the words ‘Christmas’ on you in November, but I urge you not to look away. This is a project that started back in the sunny days of summer, when a group of local musicians and singers met in The Cross Keys pub to sing through a Christmas song. Written by James Morris, the song captures the nostalgia and excitement of the 1970s Christmas race for number one songs – all snow and magic. The artists had gathered together through music evenings run by Dan Littlechild, and adopted the name The Acoustic Reverbs.
The song was recorded over one weekend in September at the Barracks Studios near Sevenoaks. The studio was decorated with tinsel to add a festive touch to the event, which was also filmed for a video by Munro Productions. The single was produced by Simon Scardanelli, while promotional work went on with Perfect Day Photography and Studio Seven Graphics producing a distinctive CD cover design. The song will be released on November 17th 2014 as a limited edition CD and as a download track available from all major online music retailers. There is a very long list of all involved, so apologies for anyone missed out!
All this work has been to raise money for local charity Taylor Made Dreams, a charity which enables children with life limiting illness achieve their dreams when time is short. The charity also provides holistic therapeutic support for the family along side their difficult times.
“The charity was set up in the memory and has been inspired by my son Taylor Mitchell who sadly lost his courageous battle against a terminal condition on the 2nd of September 2011.” said Suzi Mitchell from Crowborough. “A fund was set up called ‘Taylors Bucket of Wishes Association’ by two dear friends and this fund enabled Taylor to tick off his own ‘Bucket List’ before he passed away. The experiences we had as a family together were priceless and are now very cherished memories. Taylor-Made Dreams is a charity set up with the monies left in TBW and we received our charitable status in August 2014. We are very privileged to have Taylor’s comic hero John Bishop on board as our patron.”
To add to the Christmas fun the group have organised a launch party for the single at Tunbridge Wells Forum, on Friday 28th November. Hosted by Dan Littlechild eight acts are lined up for the night: Milly McCarron, 8 Car Attach, Ukelear Fallout, Dan Clews, McCrei, Millie Manders band, Kirsti Robinson (K-Rob) and Searching for Pie. Starting at 7pm, and carrying on til 1am, there will also be a raffle, and a chance to talk to Suzi about the charity. How about coming along for an early Christmas knees-up with a group of friends? Tickets are available from http://www.twforum.co.uk at just £5 each, and thanks to sponsorship from Mark Hanford, Peter Istead and The Forum, all money raised will go to TMD.
If you can’t make it along to the evening, try and support by buying everyone you know a copy of the single
